EQ SM class I oil trap with internal sand-sludge separator NS X 100
Since precipitation carries solid particles in the form of sand and sludge to a greater or lesser extent, standard EN 858 specifies that any oil trap system must be provided with a sand-sludge separator. Sand-sludge separation consists of giving the water, mixed with suspended particles, an extra time to stand still for a moment and allow the solid particles to sink. The sand-sludge separator inside the trap is suitable for places where there are fewer solid particles and for the separation, the NS x 100 sand-sludge separator is sufficient. If there is a lot of sand and sludge, a sand-sludge separator in a separate tank must be used.
